who we are
Heartful and dedicated, our staff of traditional healers and teachers share deep, grounded experience as guides on the journey of being human.
Our mission is to bring healing and understanding to our people and to be of benefit to all our relations. We are a small group of medicine people who stand for the re-emergence of the sacred in everyday life. We believe that a sustainable future is rooted in traditional indigenous wisdom. We are dedicated to cultivating awareness of the community of common heart through fire. We hold that everything is alive and in relationship and that to be fully human is to live from that perspective - the knowing of the heart.
Patrick Hanaway, Lisa Lichtig and Prema and Scott Sheerin are traditional healers living and working on the land of the Sky of the Heart Preserve. Individually and together they work to promote healing and relationship building between people and the sacred natural world that sustains us.
Scott Sheerin's deep interest in healing and the spiritual nature of music has led him to become an initiated marakame' in the living tradition of the Huichol Indians and a spiritual musician practicing music as medicine. A staff member of Eliot Cowan's healing camps for 17 years Scott has helped people from around the world reconnect to heart through listening to the dream of nature. Based near Asheville, North Carolina he offers his healing work locally and at the Blue Deer Center in New York. He is also the founder of HealingMusicNow an alternative streaming music service featuring his " music as medicine".
As an initiated Marakame or shaman in the indigenous Huichol tradition of Mexico, Prema Sheerin is a healer and a teacher. Prema has worked with individuals, couples and groups for 25 years, supporting people to reveal the knowing of their heart, bring forth balance and healing, and find their path in the Divine play of life.
